William C. McCormack Jr., 82, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 with his loving wife by his side. He was the husband of Lynne E. (Gallagher) McCormack for 43 years. Son of the late William C. and Mary (Lee) McCormack, he was born in Dorchester and raised in Dorchester and Quincy. Bill was a graduate of North Quincy High School, Class of 1959. He was a pipefitter with the Local 537 in Boston for many years before retiring in 2011. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his son, William C. McCormack III and his wife Noreen of Stoughton as well as his grandchildren, Baylee and Mary McCormack. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian E. McCormack. He was the brother of Frank McCormack of Quincy, Paul McCormack of Canton, Mary O’Connor of Weymouth, Joseph McCormack and John McCormack both of Boston and the late Barbara Nadeau. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his best friend, Kenneth Fahey of Randolph.
Bill’s family would like to thank Dr. Ong, Jane, Kaidy, Kimberly and Erik for the excellent, compassionate care they gave to Bill for the past year.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Friday, May 3 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Dry Pond Cemetery, Stoughton.
